In 1993 the U.S. Patent Office issued a series of patents which facilitate a marriage between the economy of the U.S. and Canadian factory built housing industries and the transportation efficiency of the world wide system for shipping overseas containers. The result is that now many building types are available for immediate delivery anywhere in the world at lower overall costs than ever before possible.
World Homes is an organization specializing in organizing the acquisition and delivery of this highly mobile modular housing. Combined factory resources give us the capability to deliver ready for occupancy housing unit volumes in excess of one hundred (100) units per day. No other organization in the world has this extraordinary capability.
This mobile modular housing is typically custom manufactured to meet local climate, culture and utility conditions. All housing and building modules are built to meet all applicable building codes and to withstand earthquake and severe wind loads. Most construction is glued wood frame with metal roof systems, masonry exterior siding, finished wood or gyprock interior finishes and fully adjustable steel foundations.
All housing modules are manufactured at either our licensed U.S. or Canadian modular housing factories and are then shipped from North American container ports directly to container ports in the receiving country.
Housing modules are "standardized" which means that their shipping, stacking, and handling characteristics are identical to standard overseas shipping containers. Because all shipping is on container ships this housing is delivered overseas for very low total ocean freight costs.
Mobile housing modules are delivered from the port to the habitable site in the receiving country on the same truck trailers used for transporting overseas containers. In most countries the overland transport cost will be less that one U.S. dollar per mile ($1.00).
This mobile modular housing can be ready for immediate occupancy and use at delivery and can include self contained utility systems for power, heating, lighting, potable water and sanitary waste water disposal.
Mobile modular housing is the best international housing value for these reasons
Quality : Mobile modular housing is built by the most reputable and experienced companies in the manufactured housing industry. Modular units are custom built on an order by order basis to agreed upon specifications for materials, utilities, and special options. Typical Material Specifications.
Versatility : Mobile modular housing is available in single wide units with 27 square meters of living space, double wide units with 55 square meters and triple wide configurations with 82 square meters. Besides residential housing mobile modular units can be used for any purpose including clinics, schools, churches, offices, and storage. Mobile modules are also ideal for the construction of multi-family building structures including apartment buildings and temporary lodging facilities. Various Floor Plans Available and Current Prices.
Economies of use : Mobile modular housing can be stacked while held in pre-positioned storage inventories. By stacking units five high over 680 single wide modules can be stored on a single acre of land. 1680 units can be stored on a single hectare. Mobile modular units possess the identical handling and shipping characteristics as overseas containers. They are shipped overseas for less than the cost of shipping an overseas container. Speed of delivery : Six major U.S. and Canadian companies are licensed under World Homes patents to produce this International housing. The combined annual revenues of these companies exceed $500 million. Because modular units are shipped on fast container ships and delivered on the same truck trailers used for transporting overseas containers, delivery to most world regions can be accomplished in less than thirty days from date of F.O.B. port delivery. Recent news stories of U.S. and Canadian manufacturers producing mobile modular housing from Automated Builder Magazine.
Ready for occupancy : Mobile modular housing can be delivered to the habitable building site ready for immediate occupancy. Fully adjustable steel foundation systems eliminate the need for expensive preconstruction site work. This housing can include self Contained systems for all utilities. Available options and frequently asked questions about self contained housing for emergency use and disaster relief.
Lowest cost: Mobile modular housing is built in modern high technology factory environments where waste is eliminated and production line efficiencies are realized. These factories are located close to the sources for raw materials. The average cost for mobile modular housing, depending on selection of options and special features, is in the range of U.S. $50 per square foot or U.S. $530 per square meter. Port to port shipping costs to most world regions will average U.S. $4.00 per square foot or U.S. $50 per square meter. Overland transport should be calculated at U.S. $1.00 per mile from the receiving port to the habitable building site. When these total costs to accomplish ready for occupancy quality housing are compared to any other International housing product the savings are substantial.
World Homes mobile housing modules are protected under U.S. patents 5,193,325, 5,317,857, 5,403,055 and Canadian Patent 2124332. Other patents are pending throughout the world.
